Swallow Prompt helps people who have difficulty in managing excess buildup of saliva. It helps those with with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease, Stroke, MND, ALS, Multiple Sclerosis and Cerebral Palsy. It will vibrate or beep at a set interval to prompt the user to swallow and prevent excess saliva buildup.

Also available on Apple Watch for an even more discrete reminder.

A journal article published in the International Journal of Language and Communication Disorders in 2001 found that when people with Parkinson’s Disease used a swallow reminder their saliva management improved. (Drooling in Parkinsons’ disease: a novel speech and language therapy intervention. Int J Lang Commun Disord. 2001;36 Suppl:282-7. Marks L, Turner K, OSullivan J, Deighton B, Lees A).

Swallow Prompt can be used during normal device usage (excluding phone calls) and when your device is in standby mode (screen off) in order to preserve battery charge.

Our lead Speech and Language Therapist is Samantha Brady who qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2001 (PGDip, City University) and gained her Masters in Speech and Language Therapy in 2006 (MSc, City University). She has a wealth of experience of working as a Speech and Language Therapist in a variety of settings and her area of clinical expertise is adult neurology and voice. Samantha is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), HPC Registered (SL10250) and Lee Silverman Voice Treatment Certified (LSVT).
